Ben graduated summa cum laude and as a Forty-Ninth State Fellow from UAA in May 2012 with a BA in International Studies (Europe & German Language and Literature emphasis). From 2012 to 2013, Ben lived in Bayreuth, Germany as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar, where he volunteered and studied at the Universität Bayreuth. He rejoined Frontier Tutoring in his current role in October 2013.

Other than his roles at Frontier Tutoring, Ben previously worked as a German tutor in the UAA Language Lab and served as a Resident Advisor during his time at UAA. He has also worked in the construction and fishing industries. In his spare time, Ben enjoys woodworking, learning foreign languages, teaching English, traveling, snowboarding, fishing, hunting and camping.
