Follow These Three Easy Steps
Decide Whether to Focus on the SAT or ACT
First, Take a Practice SAT and ACT
All colleges accept both the SAT and ACT, without preference. That means you should determine which test better suits your strengths, then focus on preparing for that test. While some students are confident they know which test they prefer, the best way to learn which test better suits your strengths is to take a free practice SAT and ACT.
When you should take your first practice SAT and ACT depends on your grade level and what level of math you have completed. See where you land in this table:
Once you have taken both a practice SAT and practice ACT, compare your scores and decide which test you would like to focus on.
Register for an Official SAT or ACT Date
First, Choose an Official SAT or ACT Test Date
You'll need to choose an official SAT or ACT test date. Here's a handy guide that walks you through three questions to help you decide when to take the official test.
For the best chance at securing the group class/individual prep dates that match your schedule preferences, please choose an official SAT or ACT test date that is at least 3 months from now.
Next, Register for the Official SAT or Official ACT
Note: If you are a rising junior preparing for the PSAT/NMSQT, please contact your high school counselor for instructions on how to register.
Schedule Your SAT or ACT Prep
As soon as you have registered for the official SAT or ACT, schedule your SAT or ACT prep with Frontier Tutoring. As noted above, we recommend you contact us to schedule your prep at least 3 months in advance of your official SAT/ACT date.
Our group and individual prep schedules become fully booked months in advance. Consequently, while we do our best to accommodate your scheduling preferences, we cannot guarantee that the times available for prep will exactly match your ideal preferences. The best way to ensure you'll get the dates and times you prefer is to begin the process of scheduling your prep as early as possible.
*You must complete all of your SAT/ACT prep sessions within 12 months of your voucher purchase date.
